HANDLING and DELIVERY DETAILS

Delivery Options & Costs

Currently we support following delivery options

  • Carrier service - we currently support DPD, PostNL and UPS.
  • Mail - we allow you to ship using Regular Mail.
  • Pick-up

Please be aware that once you have chosen a given delivery option, it is not possible to change it later on anymore. If you need this to be done, you need to contact us on sales@archonia.com , clearly indicating the order number for which you want to do it as well as the reason why.

Delivery using Carrier Services versus Mail

The main differences between a Carrier Service and Mail are:

  • Speed: depending on your country, it may take 1-5 working days before you will get the goods. We will notify you when your items have been shipped so you know when to expect a parcel. This is a lot faster than mail under most circumstances.
  • Safety: when shipping is done using a carrier, the goods are insured. This means you'll get a full refund if something happens to them. Goods are NOT insured at all when shipping is done using mail; so for orders over 150Euro we do not allow shipment using mail. If you still choose to ship using Mail above this level; we will only accept liability for this amount.
  • Tracking: it is possible to trace a parcel while shipped using carrier service. Mail does not allow for any tracking in Belgium; once a parcel leaves our warehouse it is not traceable until it shows up at your address.
  • Delivery: carrier services only deliver during office hours. The mailman as well; but you will still be given the option of collecting your parcel in the nearest post office.

Seen the above differences, we encourage you to use as much as possible the carrier services we offer - especially since we cannot guarantee anything when you use mail. We do try our utmost to get from carrier services reasonable prices, but understand that this is still too much for some of you. Please consider then that a package lost in the mail might cost you still more...

Shipping Using PostNL

PostNL (the former TNT Post) is the Dutch market leader for package delivery in the Netherlands. This company was recently added to our shipping services since they offer a very good price/quality balance for deliveries to the Netherlands.

Main characteristics:

  • Price: fixed delivery price for all packages under 15 kg. In general, less expensive than regular mail for deliveries over 2 kg
  • Weight: fixed delivery price for all packages under 15 kg. So adding extra articles to your order won't cost you extra on shipping (as long as total weight remains less than 15kg)!
  • Speed: your package will be delivered one or at most two working days after shipment. Good to know: PostNL also delivers on a Saturday !
  • Tracking service: a tracking service is provided for the larger parcels. You can check the PostNL website for the status of the delivery of your package using the package number listed our confirmation email ; this confirmation email is sent to you as soon as your package has left our warehouse.
  • Safety: your package is insured for total loss. This means you'll get a refund when your package goes missing or arrives badly damaged. For larger packets, you will be asked to sign for the delivery of your package.


PostNL will try to deliver your package at the best suitable time. So don't be surprised if they come by your place even after 18h. In case your package can't be delivered, you can make an appointment with PostNL for a second delivery. Or you can collect your package at the postal office listed on the delivery notice. Your package will remain in the postal office for max. 21 days, before being returned to ARCHONIA.

Shipping using DPD

DPD stands for `Direct Parcel Distribution' service. DPD charges a fair price for their delivery. To find out if we provide DPD delivery in your country, please visit our shipping page. Choose your country from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the page. If DPD is not listed for your country and you would still like to use DPD, contact us at sales@archonia.com and we will find out whether it is possible to add your country to the DPD destinations. Please be aware that DPD does not offer any services outside of Europe though.

Main characteristics:

  • Price: fixed delivery price for all packages under 15 kg. In general, less expensive than regular mail for deliveries over 2 kg
  • Weight: fixed delivery price for all packages under 15 kg. So adding extra articles to your order won't cost you extra on shipping (as long as total weight remains less than 15kg)!
  • Speed: packages shipped to Benelux, Germany, the northern parts of France and the UK should arrive in 1 to 2 working days; for other countries, your package should arrive within 5 working days at the utmost. We will send you a confirmation email when your items have been shipped, so you know when to expect a parcel. Please check the DPD website for the estimated delivery times to your country.
  • Tracking service: you can check the DPD website for the status of the delivery of your package using the package number listed our confirmation email.
  • Safety: your package is insured for total loss. This means you'll get a refund when your package goes missing or arrives badly damaged. Please be aware that the delivery will occur during the daytime only! You might want to indicate another delivery address (family, work, parents, ...) if you are not at home during office hours. DPD offers 3 attempts to deliver the package before it is returned to ARCHONIA.


Notes: in France, DPD works with EXAPAQ (www.exapaq.com), local specialist in smaller packages. In the UK, DPD works with Fastlink.

Shipping using UPS

UPS is the `United Parcel Service... This carrier is interesting if you live outside of Europe or a country where DPD service is not available/favorable.
To find out if we support UPS for your country, please visit our shipping page. Choose your country from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the page and all options available for you will be shown. If UPS is not listed for your country and you would still like to use UPS, ask us at sales@archonia.com and we will investigate if it is possible to add your country.

Main characteristics:

  • Price: this service is substantially more expensive than regular mail. See shipping prices page for accurate information. For large weights however, the price becomes more affordable compared to regular mail.
  • Speed: Packages shipped will be delivered within 5 working days at the utmost. We will notify you when your items have been shipped so you know when to expect a parcel.
  • Safety: when shipping is done using a carrier, the goods are insured. This means you'll get a full refund if something happens to them.
  • Tracking: it is possible to trace a parcel - check the whereabouts of your items on the UPS website with the parcel number we send you in the confirmation mail.

Please be aware that the delivery will occur during the daytime only! You might want to indicate another delivery address (parents, business,..) if you are not at home during office hours. There will be 3 tries to deliver the package before it is sent back to us.

Shipping using Regular Mail

We also offer Mail as delivery option.
This is supported in most countries. To find out if we support mail for your country - please visit our shipping page. Choose your country from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the page and then you will be shown all options available to you. If for your country Regular Mail is not listed and you would still like to use Regular Mail, ask us at sales@archonia.com and we will investigate if it is possible to add your country.

Main characteristics:

  • Price: this service is the least expensive for small parcels. See shipping prices page for accurate information. Regular mail is substantially less expensive than most other shipping methods, especially overseas.
  • Speed: Packages shipped will be delivered within a number of working days. We will notify you when your items have been shipped so you know when to expect a parcel. Experience has taught us that it can take anything from a couple of days up to a few weeks using Regular Mail.
  • Safety: goods are NOT insured.
  • Tracking: it is NOT possible to trace a parcel - even if your local postal services provide this service, the Belgian Post does not, so it is impossible to track parcels.

Please inform us if you still have not received your parcel 6 weeks after you have received the email that the goods were dispatched.
Please be aware that the delivery will occur during the daytime only! If it cannot be delivered, parcels are usually taken to the nearest post office where you can collect it at a more convenient time for you.

Pick-up

For customers in Belgium, we offer the pick-up shippong option.

Picking up goods is done at our warehouse. This is located at the following address:

Pick-up can be done:

  • From Monday to Friday between 9:30 -12:00 and 13:30-17:00
  • Not on bank holidays and neither in weekends
  • Please note that we do not have a shop where you can look at items, the warehouse is merely a pick-up point.

When Archonia.com is a dealer or participant at a convention, we mostly offer Pick-up at the convention as a shipping method. This is an easy and cheap way of getting your goods brought to you at a convention.
Main characteristics:

  • Price: you only pay a small handling fee
  • Speed: packages can be picked up as soon as you get the confirmation email stating that the order is shipped.
  • Safety: NA
  • Tracking: NA

Changing the shipping option of an order at Archonia.com

Ship-to-Countries

We ship to many countries and we have several options available for shipping, to most countries. Please refer to Shipping page for the details of the costs associated with every shipping option.
Then open the drop down menu of the countries and you will see all countries we currently support. If your country is not listed or at all and you would still like to use Archonia.com, ask us at sales@archonia.com and we will investigate if it is possible to add your country.
For countries where we do not have experience with, we will most probably build in a trial where we only support UPS as shipping method and bank transfer as payment method; these are the most reliable mechanisms.
