5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5best pokemon stories ever - 28 Jul, 2012
By pieter1998 (Belgium)
when i started to read these series i already had played the games, watched the anime, etc. but the mnga far surpasses them all! they're much more realistic and they have more action than the anime. it's such a pity VIZ doesn't translate furthe than the gold-silver series and then starts again with the diamond-pearl-platinum series. a real pity!
4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5Manga adaption of the videogames - 11 Sep, 2011
By Billy (Netherlands)
Where the Anime lost it's charm of adventure and dangers after the first 25 episodes, the Manga serie kept that throught the entire run. In the Anime Ash (Satoshi) scored badges about each 5 episode or so and was facing very dangerous situation where he even died once (Haunter Episode), suddenly it all stopped and slowed down to like 30 Episodes a badge and Team Rocket pranks, where they became a running gag instead of the villains they used to be. The Manga starts it's adventure with Red, the player character from the games. As the Manga is based on the first videogames Pokémon Red, Blue and Green (Japan only), you might seen many familiar events. Red dreams to be the best Pokémon trainer there is and works hard to beat his rival, Blue. Through their journey they fight many dangerous foes. This Manga features the 151 Pokémon and all the loved characters found in the videogames, including the main characters Red, Blue and Green who featured as the female counterpart in the remakes of the original games. It's not necessary to be a Pokémon fan to like it. But if you're a fan you'll love it.
4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5Way more serious than the Anime - 28 Mar, 2010
By Kitty Ocean (Netherlands)
I first heard about this manga years ago and I was sad not to be able to collect it... until it got re-released! To be honest, I thought it would follow the anime... but it follows the game a lot closer! The main character is Red and the only girl that follows him around, wants to sell him flunky stuff. It's also darker and more serious than the anime - Pokémon actually die! *gasp* That was a shocker... but I fell in love with the manga... just as much as I love the anime... though I do have to live with the lack of Togepi... *overdramatic sigh*
3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5The Pokemon you always wanted to have - 25 Jan, 2010
By Emma Tito (Netherlands)
Have you ever wondered... why at the end of every Pokemon episode they all lived happily ever after? Well, they don't here. The Pokemon adventures manga is more close to the games than the anime. Following red, you'll find out Team Rocket is actually good at something, the Pokemon Club is really scary and Misty likes to wear pretty dresses.
