"Sweet subtitles at last." par V. Krätke (Netherlands) le 18 avr. 2006

I hate to say it, but these episodes of Saint Seiya haven't aged very well. If this is your first brush with Saint Seiya, you will most likely not be impressed. For the Inu-Yasha crowd, this will be nothing more than dated, plodding stuff about men with daft hairdoes drawn on a shoestring budget. But Saint Seiya is more than that. It's wildly and enduringly popular in many parts of the world. The series has practically become a household name in France, and the entire Hispanic world simply can't get enough of it, just to name a few examples. For Saint Seiya's thousands of fans accross the world, these region 1 DVD's are a gift from the gods. Despite the series' insane popularity, fans have always had to settle for sub-par video releases with shoddy dubs. To my knowledge, this is the first and only time that any part of the Saint Seiya anime has been available legitimatiely with a Japanese audio track. That alone should be enough to win over established Saint Seiya fans. The picture and sound quality is far from perfect on this DVD, but about as good as can be expected for a series as old as this. Plenty of classic moments from the Sanctuary series happen during the episodes on this DVD. Aquarius Camus' dramatic entrance and Shiryu's battle against the devilish Cancer Deathmask are among the most memorable events of the Sanctuary episodes. And now fans can enjoy them in glorious, undiluted Japanese. If you grew up while Saint Seiya was constantly being re-run with a hokey dub and wildfire edits, this is something you've probably been pining for all along.
