"A violent and engrossing page-turner." by V. Krätke (Netherlands) on Aug 13, 2006

The Phantom Brigade finally makes a comeback in this volume. A group of Kimera Ants led by the fearsome Zazan has invaded their hometown and set up a nest there. The inhabitants that fall into their clutches are either turned into slaves or hideously mutilated. The 'spiders' refuse to take this invasion sitting down and attack the nest head-on. This allows for some spectacular duels between Bridage members and the monstruous ants, complete with a closer look at the various powers and personalities of some more Brigde members. For me, the highlight was finding out what the Bonorenoff character was all about. In this volume, he finally gets to actually do something. He sheds those bandages that cover his whole body and reveals some very surprising powers. Besides the battle between Zazan's troops and the Phantom Brigade, there are further chapters in this volume where the Kimera Ants' king prepares an especially sinister plan, and Gon and Kirua still try to find a way to contribute effectively to the struggle againt the ants. Volume 22 is full of that insanely creative and strikingly violent action that makes Hunter X Hunter shine. The current story arc has so far been one of the best, most exciting parts in on of the best, most exciting comics I've ever had the pleasure to read. Full marks for this book, and fingers crossed for the next volume to be released soon.
