"ATTITUDE BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL" by DANNYISTRANSFORMED (België) on Nov 5, 2006

SOME OF THE FANS SAY THAT THIS IS INFERIOR THAN THE ORIGINAL.....OKAY THE FIRST G1 IS STILL THE GREATEST,BUTT.......THE COLLECTOR AMONGST US SAY HE BELONGS IN THE TRANSFORMER COLLECTION BECAUSE ITS PART OF THE STORY ANS AS A TREU TF-FAN CAN'T MISS IT IN YOUR COLLECTION,WITH RESPECT TO ALL THE OTHER FANS,I AM A REAL FAN AND SO MY ADVISE BUY IT BEFORE IT BECOMES A COLLECTORS ITEM.

"Nice, but inferior to the origional" by firefox (België) on Jan 23, 2005

This recolor is a good try, but can't cope with the origional

It's comes with an extra energon weapon (insecticon's) .
It has a very cool packaging.
The energon blue is fantastic.
The basis of the recolor is armada Thundercracker, which was a cool recolor.

What ruins this toy then?

The fact that they wanted a G1 look, if they had gone with a armada thundercracker look like it was intended this toy would rock!!!
Also the quality of the holding pegs is not as good as the origional.

The last great miss is a line off misses by hasbro/takara

"A repaint that's better than the original!" by Basara (UK) on Dec 12, 2004

I passed on the Nightscream/Starscream figure first time round as I wasn't too sure that I liked the figure or the colours, despite everyone raving about how good he was - I just couldn't see the attraction personally.

Then, some months later in the pages of a Japanense hobby magazine I saw this repaint, and I just knew I had to have it!

The futuristic jet mode is great, and reminds me of Robot Masters Smokesniper/RiD Smokejumper, and the the G1 style colour scheme really works well. Robot mode is again great, and brings back memories of G1 and Starscream in his heyday. The only issue I have with the robot mode is the clear parts (I'd have preferred them all to solid, like the Energon version of this figure) and the slightly weak right arm joint (I thought this was just my figure, but it seems the previous reviewer had the same problem).

The standard weapons are OK - again, I'd have liked them to be solid rather than clear, but it's a minor gripe. The fact they can combine into a massive sword-type thing is pretty neat though. The bonus Energon weapon (the sword/gun type thing from Chromehorn) and Energon star look terrible though - they're a bright luminous yellow colour that doesn't go with Nightscream's colours to well.

Overall a great figure, and I'd recommend this version over the original - the only things that keeps it to 4 stars are the dodgy arm joint and the clear plastic.

"Great!" by Skoop (Netherlands) on Nov 25, 2004

If you have Energon Starscream, you basically have this one as well. I must say though that the color scheme of this Starscream is a bit better. It looks a bit more fresh, Unfortunately, the Energon star is in the wrong color. Well, in the right color, but it doesn't fit the color scheme of the rest of the figure as much as with the Energon version.

Another small downside is that the right arm has a very lose joint. With the heavy Energon weapon that screamer is carrying, this means he'll be aiming his weapon to the ground all the time. It will work fine if we put him next to a cliff with Autobots below, but when posing him, it's a shame.

All in all, this is a wonderful figure! Definately recommended for the true Starscream fan.
