"Transformers re-issue 14 Hound" by Veli Vidgren (Finland) on Dec 11, 2007

Hound is quite small when got out of package. Transformation is simple but nice. And being a G1 toy, Hound doesn't have a lot of articulation. He feels durable, except for windshield that seems to be attached too tightly for a hinged part. Hound also has quite a lot of kibble for a toy his size, each form leaves something loose.

Hound is mainly recommended for fans of G1 toys. Takara re-issue line gives a good opportunity to get some of the favourite Transformers in mint condition. Price is not fitting for everyone, though.

"leuke item in mijn collectie..." by sel (Netherlands) on Aug 5, 2006

Ik heb uiteindelijk Hound gekocht......

Toch wel leuk om hem compleet te hebben. Steeds een zeldzamere item aan het worden....

Mooie Dreamwave / Takara doos.

Ben zeer blij.....

"Niet slecht!" by Shrapnel Clone (Nederland) on Dec 2, 2004

Hound is eindelijk opnieuw uitgebracht! En het werd tijd ook, want de meeste mensen missen al jaren zijn reservewiel, benzineblik of wapens. Grijp dus nu je kans om Hound toch geheel en compleet in goede staat te kopen. Zeker de moeite!

"nice, but some mold deterioration." by twistedpaul (Netherlands) on Nov 20, 2004

Although small in stature, Hound is one of the better 1984/85 cars. He's immensely detailed, looks fine in robot mode and stunning in Jeep mode. His transformation is simple yet imaginative and rewarding.
The re-issue is OK, but a bit of a let-down compared to the original's molding. The quality is more than adequate and the transformation, like most of the re-issues, seems much smoother than with the G1 originals. If you have an original, compare that with the headsculpt of the re-release. There you have it, the re-issue looks somewhat less sharp. Kinda like the G2 Jazz face. It's not that much of a problem and this Hound is a more than worthy substitute, but I think it's a shame nonetheless that this wasn't fixed when the mold was pulled out of the proverbial mothballs.

On the plus side, Hound has his factory stickers tampographed, which definitely looks better. His windshield though required a LOT of force to bend back-- I'm really afraid that It'll snap over. This really could have been handled better-- when all other joints move much more smoothly without applying as much force, then why can't the windshield?

In package though, this looks awesome, and the mold deterioration doesn't affect the carmode at all.
Verdict: 6.5 out of 10. Recommended if you don't have an original and want a mint specimen.

"Althoug smaller, it beats the Binaltech Jeep!!!!" by SoundBlaster (Netherlands) on Nov 9, 2004

Hound has arrived! This Jeep may not look as cool as most of the other G1 Autobots, but still is a great and nice re-issue to have (and also because otherwise your collection would not be as up-to-date without this one).

Again, as usual from Takara's re-issues, a super Re-issue box. The packaging is super and Hound is super, what more would you want? (I hear someone say 2? Yeah....we all would love that, won't we.....)

If you haven't already done so, put your pointer on the cart and click!
