Description
Having been assigned by the human elders the mission of stopping an mystical plague that has afflicted the Yokai with madness, Genjo Sanzo assembles his team of Yokai warriors in the hopes that the affliction will not affect them. He sets up tests that will ensure that Cho Hakkai, Son Goku and Sha Gojyo stay loyally by his side as he journeys west. Once they pass, the team ventures forth to rid the land of madness.

Van het verhaal van Aap en zijn Reis Naar Het Westen (Chinese mythologie) zijn al veel versies gemaakt. Maar dit is toch wel één van de interesantere.
Door Saiyuki te lezen krijg je je portie geweld én je portie geschiedenis in één keer binnen.
Deze combinatie is voor de een niet te harden en voor de ander ronduit geweldig.
De manga heeft mij in ieder geval niet teleur gesteld.

Ch, this manga is one of the best I've ever read. The Art is to die for! Believe me, you soon fall in love with those naughty boys ;D
But there should be a little warning. If you hate violence, cursing and you know... things you should read at 16+, don't read it. Just wonder what it is about x3

het verhaal gaat over drie mannen en een jongen
die op weg zijn naar het westen. maar de weg erheen is lang en niet zonder gevaar.
en ze maken heel wat mee.
de strip zelf is mooi getekend en het verhaal is ijzer sterk.
de strip is wel voor het iets oudere publiek.
als je begrijpt wat ik bedoel.
het is een action/adventure met wat fantasy en af en toe grappig.
het is echt heel vet voor de liefhebbers van dit genre.
