"D(ecision)-day" by Ydrait (Poland) on Apr 16, 2004
"X-day" is a short (only 2 volumes) manga by Setona Mizushiro. It starts in a chat room, where 4 people from the same school are complaining about their life: too much homework, too strict teachers etc, etc... Just the usual topics of all students, especially in their final year of high school. But this time it's not just a chat... they all reach the same conclusion: if this school is what I hate about the world, let's destroy it!
So simple, so obvious.. why is that no one ever did that? They decide to meet in a real life and enforce this plan.
Why are they so desperate? They all look like they were on the verge of commiting suicide... How come such little things can make you want to die? But it is those litle things that are your life. So, there are only two ways: destroy the school which represents the world that hurts you, or to destroy yourself. They all choose to figth, to live... will they accomplish their plan? During the preparations they became friends.. they found out that they are loved, accepted, that someone cares about them, that their lives are not so meaningles as they have thought... But the counting for the X-Day is still on... How will it end?
I thought at first that it will be just a crazy story about few students trying to blow up the school... but it isn't. The story concentrates on those students, their lives and their problems. It's a touching tale of making friends, overcoming hardships and falling in love.
