Description

The third figure in the new line of Transformer re-issues from Takara is the autobot Skids (1985). Skids was a bit less popular than tracks when he was released (mostly due to the car he transformed in being a less popular car in the US), but this guy looks great in both robot and vehicle mode and is one heck of an adversary for the decepticons. Skids also comes in a neat box in the same style as the other re-issues.

"Klassieker." by RhA (Nederland) on Jan 26, 2007

"Worthy Re-Issue of Skids" by God_Ginrai (Nederland) on Jan 3, 2005

Unfortunately, Skids is one of the less popular Transformers. In the cartoon he showed up just a few times. Besides this it's still a worthy collector's piece. And he's a bit taller than Jazz, Prowl, Sideswipe, Smokescreen. His weapons are cool, 3 different pieces which can be clicked on his arms. The stickers can be applied easily which cannot always be said of other Takara Re-Issues.The only let down is that he can't stand up straight, because of his wheels which doesn't click in completely. You can now have a Skids for a fair price. Don't forget Takara stopped the production of
Re-Issues #00-#11 and prices elsewhere are getting higher than those at Archonia.

"Skids: anders dan de anderen" by Shrapnel Clone (Nederland) on Dec 2, 2004

"Skids" by Seth (België) on Apr 22, 2004

"Underated by most, but quite cool indeed" by Micha Muscus (Netherlands) on Dec 19, 2003

I will agree that Skids in carmode is not that cool, but as a robot he's quite good, specially because of his cool weapons. It's a much better robot than Hound or Wheeljack and I won't even talk about Ironhide and Ratchet. It's surprising that he's almost twice as big in robot mode than in carmode. I never regret for a second buying him. you know what he looks like in carmode, so you buy this guy for his robot mode or just to have him in your collection. From that perspective is great that Takara re-issued him. Because you will have a really hard time finding an original one on Ebay..!!
