Description

The characters of DiGi Charat began as mascots for "Gamers," a store chain in Japan that caters to anime fans with character goods, trading cards and books. The original characters were designed by Kage-Donbo and were instantly popular with otaku (hardcore anime fan) customers. Since airing in 1999, DiGi Charat has become one of the most popular (and recognizable) anime shows in Japan. The storylines make fun of fandom and culture, making fans laugh at themselves. Each episode is short, around 3-7 minutes, but full enough to give a person sensory overload.
