Description

Before the Knight Sabers arrived in MegaTokyo, the overworked, underfunded and outgunned AD Police had to hold off a swelling tide of technological violence. Boomers, artificially intelligent androids, have the potential to free mankind from physical labor. Alas, anything that can be used can also be misused.

File 01 - The phantom woman
AD Police rookie Leon McNichol gets a rough introduction to the job when he has to prove that another cop's death was in the line of duty and not a suicide. Meanwhile, illegally refurbished boomers are going berserk -- and one of them is stalking him!

File 02 - The ripper
Detective Iris Kara is investigating a series of gruesome prostitute murders, while at the same time she is considering getting one of the new artificial organs (an eye) to improve herself. But at what point does one stop being human, and start becoming a machine?

File 03 - The man who bites his tongue
Critically wounded, AD Police officer Billy Fanword is rebuilt as a heavily armed cyborg cop. But Billy, who can now confirm his humanity only by biting his tongue, soon learns that invincibility isn't all it's cracked up to be!

"Good" by ptitlouis (Belgique) on Nov 3, 2005

I remember getting this series on vhs back in the day. As a HUGE fan of Bubblegum Crisis I HAD to have this series. The difference here is that it is VERY dark and sadistic and focuses more on the boomers this time instead of the police themselves as much. It is gory, disturbing and innovative for it's time. Some will be turned off with the absence of "fan service" and "sillyness" as this is an adult anime that is more of a companion to bubblegum crisis than a true sequel/prequel. If you liked any of the Bubblegum crisis/crash shows and want a darker version this is for you. Also check out "Parasite Dolls".
