Immediately after checking into the Kurosaki Clinic with a mysterious scar on his back, the muscle-bound Chad goes AWOL. Accompanying Chad is a talking parakeet imbued with the soul of a young boy named Yuuichi. It doesn't take newbie Soul Reaper Ichigo Kurosaki long to surmise that a Hollow must be involved. By far the strongest spirit he's faced to date, Ichigo is about to discover that not every soul is bound for the Soul Society, especially if it's tainted with innocent blood.

Bleach is a manga which, though this is subjective off course, great art and a great story. To appreciate the story however you will have to read more than just one volume. In this second volume, another secondary character gets attention, namely Chad. Chad finds a parakeet which as it turns out has a nasty secret. We also meet someone new, Kon. He's the character which while never appearing a lot, always brings a comic note to the manga.

Bleach volume 2: Goodbye Parakeet, Good Night My Sister begint zoals gewoonlijk weer met een kleine gedichtje, ditmaal 2 regels. Na deze subtiele hint naar de inhoud van de volume begint de manga pas echt. Bleach Volume 2 speelt zich veel af in school en in de wijken waar Ichigo woont. De manga staat bol van de gevechten tegen Hallows. De lezer zal dus wat meer worden voorgesteld aan de krachten van Ichigo die voorheen eigenlijk onbekend waren. Tot slot is zijn er ook weer een handvol nieuwe charakters aanwezig, onder andere Chad. Ik benadruk Chad omdat ik hem toch wel één van de tofste charakters van Bleach vind ( zijn kracht doet me denken aan Errol van Gods Gym). Over het algemeen een aardige volume. Maar 't kan toch nét iets beter.

Alweer een geweldig deel van Bleach, de verhaallijn is zoals gewoonlijk weer geweldig.

I've read this one about a million times and I can't wait to read it again, I just love this volume, maybe it's me, but there's some sort of short story(I call it that it's part of the whole, but it's finished at the end of this volume) at the end of the manga and I think that little story is just perfectly heartbreaking, as for the rest of the manga, it continuous with the usual story about chad and his little birdy...if you wanna know what happens to those two and read a lovely story too, this is the manga for you:D

I've read this one about a million times and I can't wait to read it again, I just love this volume, maybe it's me, but there's some sort of short story(I call it that it's part of the whole, but it's finished at the end of this volume) at the end of the manga and I think that little story is just perfectly heartbreaking, as for the rest of the manga, it continuous with the usual story about chad and his little birdy...if you wanna know what happens to those two and read a lovely story too, this is the manga for you:D

Vol 2 continues where 1 left off. Chad and his parakeet are followed by a hollow. Ichigo has to save his friend and let the boy in the parakeet pass on. The graphics got a bit better, plot and action too.

Nadat Chad is opgenomen in de Kurosaki kliniek vlucht hij naar een parkiet, maar dit is niet zomaar een parkiet... Weer snel uit te lezen, de tekenstijl is niet optimaal, maar zeker wel het kopen waard.

Goed, maar het blijft een beetje afwachten tot het verhaal echt begint.. Tekenstijl is nog niet bijgetrokken naar het latere niveau. Ah well, goede opening voor later briljant verhaal.

Het tweede deel in deze serie bewijst maar weer eens de pure klasse van auteur Kubo Tite, die ondanks zijn voor Nederlanders best zielige naam een manga uit de hoed tovert waar je U tegen zegt. Op de cover staat "The World's Most Popular Manga", dit moeten we wellicht met een korreltje zout nemen maar het zegt genoeg over de impact van BLEACH. Je wil gewoon méér hiervan, meer van het geweldige artwork en de tekenstijl, meer van de absurdistische en geweldige humor, meer van de overdonderende actie die geweldig is weergegeven. Ik heb alle delen van deze serie die nu uit zijn thuis liggen, en zodra er een nieuw deel verschijnt haal ik die ook. Het is namelijk gewoon té moddervet!
