| Now this is the first figure I've actually bought solely for the figure itself rather than the character it represents. This of course that Kiriko Hattori isn't exactly a world known character; and quite understandable. However this figure's grace, beauty and overal quiality simply puts most of the more well known character's figures to shame! To start off with the packaging; the box really doesn't do the figure much honor, it has a nice illustration on it and displays the fact that Kiriko probably is a girly girl character due to the many cut-out hearts on the pinkish box. Nonetheless once you open it your first pleasant surprise will be the fact that you won't have to struggle through layers of plastic, tape and wire to reach the figure, it's quite easy to extract from the box; which is a new experience to me! The figure itself it graceful; her stance and position are simply amazing. Kiriko has a real feminine and CLASSY feel to her; which is well done considering she's wearing a skintight ninja-outfit. So that's a plus; it's one of those rare figures that can really show of the characters femininity and certain sex-appeal without having to resort to awkward poses or oversized body proportions. The sword and hairpin come loose and need to be placed on the figure yourself; this is a good choice considering there would have been a good chance the items would have broken off during transporation had they been attached to the actual figure itself. Now I've read on another site that the sword was hard to place...well, let me just give you one tip for that; instead of tying to jam the hilt of her sword between her thumb and fingers like an angered boar; try sliding the hilt of her weapon through the back of her open palm', it'll make your life a lot easier...and is less stressful for the figure. The hairpin is quite easily attached if you have a steady hand but once it's done; perfect. Now the base displayed on the images of this website are incorrect, at least with my copy, rather than a large wooden base you've got something else...sure it's not wood, but not bad either, it's made out of solid plastic with a mirrored surface that gives it a very nice effect. Overal; Kiriko is an exceptional beautiful figurine that has been crafted with much detail and care and considering it's neither the cheapest nor the most expensive it really is an excellent addition to any collection. | |
