Cross Academy is attended by two groups of students: the Day Class and the Night Class. At sunset, when the students of the Day Class return to their dorm, they cross paths with the Night Class on their way to school. Yuki Cross and Zero Kiryu are the Guardians of the school, there to protect the Day Class from the Academy's dark secret: the Night Class is full of vampires.

Matsuri Hino weet met haar unieke stijl onvoorspelbaardheid, mysterie en zelfs comedy in het vampierthema te brengen, zoals het hoort. Het is zeker aan te raden, want niets is wat het lijkt, zeker op Cross Academy. |

Geen wonder dat deze serie zo'n hit is. Mangaka Matsuri Hino heeft een originele manier gevonden om vampirisme in een manga te verwerken zonder dat het saai of voorspelbaar wordt(wat ik nogal vaak het geval vind bij manga met vampieren als thema). Een sterke serie met de nodige drama, actie en bishies voor elke shoujo liefhebber; zelfs als je niet zo van vampieren of bloed houdt is deze serie erg leuk om te lezen. |

Deze manga heeft echt hele mooie art. ikzelf ben over het algemeen niet zo'n fan van shojo, maar deze manga heeft me echt weten te boeien en ik heb dan ook zeerzeker zin om deel 2 te kopen en te lezen. Hetgeen waar ik me wel aan stoorde was dat aan het begin van elk hoofdstuk hetzelfde werd herhaald: ik zit op de cross-academy, we hebben hier een dag en een nachtklas, de nachtklas zit vol met vampieren maar dat mag de dagklas niet weten etc. Heel begrijpelijk op zich, omdat deze manga in hoofdstukken in een tijdschrift werd ( wordt?) gepubliceerd. Laat dit kleine minpunt je er echter niet van weerhouden om dit toppertje in huis te halen: hij is het zeker waard. |

Zoals alle manga van Matsuri Hino heeft deze weer heel mooie artwork. Het verhaal is heel mooi bedacht & er zit ook humor tussen.
Zelf nu lees 'k het van tijd tot tijd nog eens over omdat het zo'n fijn verhaal is.
Dit is éen van mijn lievelingsseries en heeft altijd in de top gestaan bij de shoujo-manga. |

Ik had al veel van deze serie gehoord, en besloot de manga uit te proberen.
En dat beviel heel goed! Een spannend verhaal met interresante karakters.
Hierdoor ben ik de anime gaan kijken, die wat afwijkt van het verhaal van de manga, maar zeker de moeite waard is! |

Echt een geweldige manga, ook al heb je de anime gekeken dan is het lezen van de manga zeker nog steeds de moeite waard, er staan extra verhaaltjes in die niet in de anime voorkomen, een verklaring van de namen van iedereen en commentaar van de mangaka.

I'm a little bit obsessed by this manga :)
It has a bit of everything in it: humor, love, drama and sometimes it's also very scary.
I like it that you also get to know more about the other characters, not only the main ones. It's a very intruiging story and I can't get enough. My favorite is Zero. The name on it's own is really great and with his mysterious personality it's almost impossible not to love him :)
And the idea of a day and night class is very original. |

The art in vampire knight is very beautiful and I especially love the uniforms! The story is full of bishies (bi-shounens), especially all the vampires are very beautiful. It's a sweet but also a bit dark story when you read further and duck into the past of the main characters. Even though the story is very serious, there are still a lot of funny parts, especially because the characters is also trying to lead a normal school life. |

Vampire Knight is that kind of serie that when the volume ends you wanna read the next volume. The story is mysterious and i think everyone who loves shoujo should read it.

The only negative thing i can say about this serie is that there are only 3 translated, so you'll have to wait for the others if you want to have them all.
This manga is just fabulous, the drawings are stunning, the story is, idk, i just love it... And the vampires, i love them. Just buy this serie, it really won't dissapoint you... I'm not really a quick buyer and surely not these ones because they're quite expensive, but i'm not at all dissapointed, i'm very glad i ordered it, and now, lets hope that the 4th one will be there asap! |

I've been reading the Japanese edition of this manga, and I'm absolutely hooked on it. In the end, the high school in this story is just like any other high school - the students are divided in insiders and outsiders (though outsiders have their insiders too), and especially insiders are famous of their "pecking order". Though there are some cliches in the plot, the drawing style is very cute.
Anyways, VIZ didn't translate this manga in vain, I'm sure it will be a success. Vampire and bishounen fans, check this out! |
